Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes

Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes

  • Author: vitalityrecipes
  • Total Time: 26–32 minutes

Description

Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes are thin, golden and wonderfully crispy around the edges, with a savoury blend of garlic, smoked paprika, oregano and thyme. Finished with Parmesan, fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes, these easy potato slices make a delicious side dish or snack with your favourite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

4 medium Yukon Gold or russet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, optional

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Pinch of red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

1. Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly. Slice them into thin, even rounds about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick.

2. Place the potato slices in a large bowl. If they release moisture after slicing, pat them dry.

3. Add the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Toss well until every slice is evenly coated.

4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.

5. Place the seasoned potato slices in the air fryer basket in a mostly single layer. Avoid overcrowding the basket so the hot air can circulate around the slices.

6. Cook the potatoes for 10–12 minutes, then carefully flip the slices.

7. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for another 6–10 minutes, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy around the edges. Thicker slices may need a few additional minutes.

8. If using Parmesan, sprinkle the grated cheese over the potatoes during the final 1–2 minutes of cooking.

9. Transfer the crispy potatoes to a serving plate. Finish with fresh chopped parsley, freshly cracked black pepper and a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.

10. Serve immediately with garlic yogurt sauce, ranch-style dip, ketchup or your favourite dipping sauce.

Notes

Slice the potatoes evenly so they cook at a similar rate.

Pat away excess moisture before seasoning to encourage better browning.

Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Arrange the slices in a mostly single layer so hot air can circulate.

Flip the slices halfway through cooking for more even browning.

Watch the final minutes carefully because thin potato slices can brown quickly.

Add Parmesan during the final 1–2 minutes so it melts and becomes lightly golden without overcooking.
