Description
Maple Butter Tart Flatbread with Brie, Pecan & Brown Sugar is a deliciously indulgent combination of creamy Brie, crunchy pecans, buttery brown sugar and sweet maple syrup baked over a crisp flatbread. Warm cinnamon and vanilla add a cosy, dessert-inspired flavour that makes every bite rich, gooey and irresistible.
Ingredients
1 large flatbread or naan
4 oz (115 g) Brie cheese, thinly sliced
⅓ cup (35 g) pecans, roughly chopped
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
For the Maple Butter Drizzle:
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp brown sugar
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the flatbread or naan on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract and sea salt until smooth and well combined.
Arrange the thinly sliced Brie evenly across the flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.
Scatter the roughly chopped pecans over the Brie. Drizzle the maple butter mixture evenly across the flatbread, then sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are crisp, the Brie is melted and the pecans are lightly toasted.
While the flatbread is baking, stir together the melted butter, maple syrup, brown sugar and sea salt for the final drizzle.
Remove the flatbread from the oven and drizzle the maple butter mixture lightly over the hot surface.
Allow the flatbread to cool for 2–3 minutes. Slice into wedges and serve warm while the Brie is creamy and the pecans are crunchy.
Notes
Use thinly sliced Brie so the cheese melts evenly across the flatbread.
Leave a small border around the edges to help keep the toppings contained.
Watch the pecans closely because they can toast quickly with the brown sugar and maple syrup.
Serve warm while the Brie is at its creamiest.
Add the final maple butter drizzle after baking for a glossy finish.
For variations, use naan instead of flatbread, adjust the amount of brown sugar or maple drizzle, or use another soft cheese if preferred.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat gently until warmed through.
