Description
Easy brie pear walnut flatbread with melty cheese, juicy pears, toasted walnuts, and a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle—a 4-ingredient appetizer ready in 22 minutes!
Ingredients
2 flatbreads or naan
1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
150 g brie cheese, sliced
1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
½ cup (60 g) walnut halves, toasted
3 tbsp (45 ml) honey
½ tsp chili flakes
Fresh thyme, to garnish
Cracked black pepper, to garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a small dry skillet over medium heat, toast the walnut halves for 3–4 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
3. Place the flatbreads on a parchment-lined baking tray and brush both sides with olive oil.
4. Arrange brie slices evenly over the flatbreads (keep the rind on).
5. Layer thinly sliced pears over the brie in a rustic overlapping pattern.
6. Scatter the toasted walnut halves across the top.
7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is bubbly, pears are softened, and edges are crispy and golden.
8. While the flatbread bakes, gently warm the honey and stir in the chili flakes to infuse.
9. Drizzle the hot honey generously over the baked flatbread.
10. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and cracked black pepper.
11. Slice with a pizza cutter and serve warm immediately.
Notes
Use ripe but firm pears—Bosc, Anjou, or Bartlett work best.
Keep the brie rind on for the creamiest melt and richest flavor.
Slice pears thin and evenly so they cook through.
Toast walnuts fresh for the best nutty flavor.
Prep components ahead but bake just before serving.
For a milder version, skip the chili flakes.
