Description
Crispy Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges with Feta & Hot Honey are golden and crisp around the edges, topped with creamy feta, fresh parsley, and sweet-spicy hot honey. Cornstarch helps create a deliciously crisp coating, making these sweet potato wedges an easy and flavour-packed side dish or appetiser.
Ingredients
For the Sweet Potato Wedges:
2 large sweet potatoes, cut into wedges
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp dried oregano
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
For the Topping:
½ cup crumbled feta cheese
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
¼ cup hot honey
1 tbsp toasted walnuts, chopped (optional)
Fresh lemon zest, optional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the sweet potato wedges dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl and drizzle with the olive oil. Toss well until evenly coated.
Sprinkle the cornstarch over the sweet potato wedges and toss thoroughly until lightly coated.
Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Toss again until all the wedges are evenly seasoned.
Arrange the seasoned sweet potato wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Roast for 25–30 minutes, turning the wedges halfway through, until tender in the centre and golden and crisp around the edges.
Transfer the hot roasted sweet potato wedges to a serving platter.
Immediately sprinkle the crumbled feta evenly over the wedges.
Drizzle the hot honey generously over the roasted sweet potatoes and feta.
Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and, if using, add the toasted walnuts and fresh lemon zest.
Serve immediately while the sweet potato wedges are still hot and crispy.
Notes
Pat the sweet potato wedges dry before seasoning to remove excess moisture.
Don’t skip the cornstarch because it helps create a light, crisp coating.
Leave enough space between the wedges so they roast rather than steam.
Turn the wedges halfway through cooking for more even browning.
Add the feta and hot honey after roasting to preserve the best texture.
Serve immediately for the crispiest results.
For leftovers, reheat in the oven or air fryer and add fresh feta and hot honey afterwards.
