Ingredients
For the Punch
2 cups (480 ml) RumChata
2 cups (480 ml) apple cider
1 cup (240 ml) vanilla vodka
1/2 cup (120 ml) maple syrup
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup (240 ml) ginger ale, chilled
Ice, for serving
For Garnishing
Apple slices
Cinnamon sticks
Ground cinnamon
Maple syrup, for the glass rims
Instructions
1. Add the maple syrup, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan.
2. Warm the mixture over low heat for 2–3 minutes, stirring gently until fragrant and well combined.
3. Remove the maple mixture from the heat and let it cool completely.
4. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the RumChata, apple cider, vanilla vodka, and cooled maple mixture.
5. Stir gently until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
6. Cover the pitcher or punch bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to thoroughly chill and allow the flavours to come together.
7. Just before serving, pour in the chilled ginger ale and stir gently to preserve the carbonation.
8. If desired, lightly coat the rims of the serving glasses with maple syrup, then dip them into a mixture of ground cinnamon and a little sugar.
9. Fill each glass with ice and pour the chilled punch over the ice.
10. Garnish each glass with an apple slice and cinnamon stick.
11. Finish with a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon and serve immediately.
Notes
Allow the maple mixture to cool completely before combining it with the chilled ingredients.
Chill the punch before adding the ginger ale so it stays cold without relying too heavily on ice.
Add the ginger ale just before serving and stir gently to retain as much carbonation as possible.
Use fresh, good-quality apple cider for a fuller apple flavour.
A simple apple slice and cinnamon stick make attractive seasonal garnishes without overpowering the drink.
The RumChata, apple cider, vanilla vodka, and cooled maple mixture can be combined and refrigerated ahead of time. Add the ginger ale immediately before serving.
The maple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla mixture can also be prepared ahead, cooled, and refrigerated until needed.
Ginger ale can be omitted for a richer, less fizzy punch.
Sparkling apple cider can be used instead of regular apple cider, although it will add additional carbonation. Add it shortly before serving and stir gently.
Serve well chilled over ice in individual glasses, or serve from a large pitcher or punch bowl for gatherings.
