Description
Pear, Brie, and Cranberry Flatbread with Thyme is an elegant sweet-and-savoury appetiser made with crisp flatbread, creamy melted Brie, tender pear, tangy cranberry sauce, toasted walnuts, honey, and fresh thyme. Ready in just 22 minutes, it is perfect for entertaining, holidays, light lunches, or a cosy snack.
Ingredients
1 (250 g) store-bought flatbread or naan
1 tablespoon (15 mL) olive oil
1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
4 oz (115 g) Brie cheese, sliced
1/4 cup (60 mL) cranberry sauce, whole berry preferred
1/4 cup (30 g) walnuts, toasted and chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
1 tablespoon honey
Pinch of sea salt
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Place the flatbread or naan on a baking sheet.
Brush the surface lightly with olive oil.
Arrange the thinly sliced pear evenly over the flatbread.
Add the sliced Brie, distributing it across the surface.
Spoon small dollops of cranberry sauce over the pear and Brie.
Scatter the toasted, chopped walnuts over the top.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are crisp, the pear is tender, and the Brie is warm and melted.
Remove the flatbread from the oven.
Drizzle with honey.
Sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves, sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper.
Add a light drizzle of balsamic glaze if desired.
Slice the flatbread into wedges.
Serve warm while the Brie is soft and creamy.
Notes
Use a ripe but firm pear so it holds its shape during baking.
Slice the pear thinly so it cooks quickly and distributes evenly.
Toast the walnuts for extra crunch and deeper flavour.
Do not overload the flatbread, as this helps keep the base crisp.
Serve immediately while the Brie is warm and creamy.
